NSW: National Easter road toll rises to 20

The national Easter road toll has risen to 20 following the death of an elderly buspassenger in New South Wales.

Police say the 79-year-old man fell off his seat when the bus he was on braked in Maitlandin the Hunter Valley on Thursday.

He died in hospital overnight, taking New South Wales' Easter toll to six.

South Australia has recorded its first Easter fatality -- a 17-year-old girl whowas in the back of a ute that overturned on a Port Lincoln beach on Friday night.

She died in the Royal Adelaide Hospital yesteray.

Seven people have died on Victorian roads, three in Queensland, two in Western Australiaand one in Tasmania.

The Northern Territory and the ACT remain fatality-free.
